Conversational marketing platform for B2B sales
Drift (now part of Salesloft) is a conversational marketing and sales platform built to route high-intent B2B users to sales reps and book meetings. It is powerful for outbound-style sales motions, but it is enterprise-priced, moving away from smaller businesses, and built around pipeline rather than helping every user self-serve in their own language.
Drift built its name on conversational marketing — using chat to identify high-intent B2B users and route them to sales reps to book meetings. Since becoming part of Salesloft and moving upmarket, it has repositioned away from smaller businesses, which is exactly why many teams now look for a Drift alternative: it is enterprise-priced, sales-pipeline-focused, and more than a typical site needs for helping users.
Companin is built for a different goal: helping every user, not just qualifying the sales-ready few. It answers free-text questions from your own content, guides users to the right feature, and does it in 14 languages with automatic per-user switching. There is no enterprise sales motion to adopt — you install one script tag and it is live in minutes.
That makes the choice fairly clear. Drift suits B2B organisations with a dedicated sales team and a meeting-booking, pipeline-driven motion. Companin suits businesses that want every user to get instant, multilingual answers and find what they came for — free to start, EU-hosted by design, and priced by usage rather than by enterprise contract.

Drift is enterprise-oriented: pricing starts high, is quote-based at the upper tiers, and there is no free plan — reflecting its move upmarket with Salesloft. Companin is free to start with no credit card and prices by conversation volume, so a small or mid-sized site can get fully multilingual user assistance without an enterprise contract or a sales-led procurement process.
