Enterprise help desk and AI answer bot
Zendesk is an enterprise customer service platform offering ticketing, a help center, and AI-powered Answer Bot. It is feature-rich but complex to configure and expensive at scale, and it is built around ticketing rather than helping users self-serve in their own language.
Zendesk is an enterprise help desk, and that is exactly why so many smaller teams go looking for a Zendesk chatbot alternative. The platform is powerful, but it is priced and built for large support operations: ticketing workflows, agent seats, and a configuration surface that takes real time to set up. If you run a small business and mainly want users to get instant answers and find the right feature, most of that machinery is overhead you pay for but never use.
Companin is the lighter-weight option. It installs with a single script tag, learns your site automatically, and starts answering user questions and guiding people to the right feature within minutes — no ticket pipelines, no seat planning. It understands free-text questions rather than relying on rigid flows, and it answers each user in their own language across 14 supported languages.
For a small business weighing Zendesk vs a focused customer success assistant, the trade-off is breadth versus speed and cost. Zendesk gives you a complete, scalable support organisation in software. Companin gives you instant, multilingual self-service on your website that is live the same afternoon, free to start, and EU-hosted by design. If you are not running a large ticket queue, the lighter tool usually wins.

Zendesk prices per agent per month, with the more capable AI and analytics tiers costing significantly more, and there is no free plan — only a trial. For a small business, the per-seat model means you are paying enterprise rates before you have an enterprise-sized team. Companin is free to start with no credit card, then charges by conversation volume rather than per seat, so your cost tracks how much users actually use the assistant rather than how many people are on your team.
Zendesk excels at enterprise ticketing and large-scale support operations. Companin focuses on the user experience on your website — guiding and answering in 14 languages — and is far faster to deploy.
